animal welfare organizations on marketing, fundraising, spay / neuter and adoption
programming.
Her professional interests surround shelter
animal behavior and
welfare, population health and wellness, feline medicine, and strategies to prevent
animals from entering shelters
including behavioral wellness, identification, and sterilization
programs.
She worked for several pet
welfare organizations,
including UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine
Program, The Sacramento SPCA, and the
Animal Rescue League of Boston, where she developed and implemented enrichment / behavior modification
programs.
Her interests
include diagnosis, management, and prevention of infectious diseases;
animal welfare, veterinary ethics, and decision - making; and innovative outreach
programs promoting accessible veterinary care and humane behaviors.
While a number of other canine
welfare programs address basic physical needs and genetic health, Canine Care Certified goes above and beyond those
programs by also providing detailed standards in critically important areas of
animal behavior,
including socialization.
The
program includes both an online graduate certificate and an online master's degree in shelter medicine, and is open to veterinary professionals,
animal welfare professionals, students, and career changers interested in getting a start in shelter medicine or assisting local shelters with non-profit leadership issues.
The Build - A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation desires to provide direct support for
