animals served by the Spay Shuttle are those that have been identified as being at highest risk for reproduction and then
admission to the shelter, based
upon breed, age and residence within high - intake neighborhoods in Knoxville and Knox County.
Surgical care and treatment begins
upon admission to the hospital and does not end until the
animal is fully recovered from its procedure.
Upon admission, each
animal gets a complete check - up, is bathed, has a medical work - up along with blood testing, receives appropriate vaccinations and shots, is given a behavior evaluation, and subsequently, spayed and neutered.
