Being short myself, I've given up on that rule about
the ankle straps because 1 - I love that they keep your foot in place better so the shoes seem more comfy and 2 - They're in style!!
I like open toe sandals with
ankle straps because it shows some skin to balance all that you cover on the above.
I usually don't wear shoes with
ankle straps because I feel like they make me look shorter.

They look like they'd be great shoes for running around after your kiddo, but they're also flattering, particularly
because the crossed
straps dip below the line where the typical
ankle strap would go.

Oh, and if you need a little laugh today — last week, I was putting on a pair of heels with an skinny
ankle strap and it seriously took me 10 minutes to get them on
because I couldn't see the clasp!
That said, I have tie - up heels that I wear to work occasionally
because you can adjust the ties so it looks more like
ankle straps.
I love these kitten heels but was told by a fashion consultant that
because I am very petite (5» 0 ″, 100 lbs) I should avoid kitten heels and anything with an
ankle strap.
I really love the Steve Madden sandals even though I usually try and avoid anything with an
ankle strap like that
because it really does no favors to my legs!
I am not a fan of the single
ankle strap with a lower block heel (the
strap on the Ann Taylor Gigi Sandal)
because I find it more difficult to wear for long periods of time.
A maxi dress, midi skirt, striped t shirt,
ankle -
strap flats, etc. will always be on - trend
because they're pretty timeless and classic.

ankle strap and the slight wedge that gives you a little bit of extra height without sacrificing comfort.
I especially love this Steve Madden pair
because of the classic
ankle strap style and variety of colors (and being under $ 80 doesn't hurt!).
I also own another similar pair of
ankle strap sandals, but I love these
because they're so simple and plain.
I finally located these, which I loved
because of the
ankle strap, but the DSW I was at didn't have my size.
I love wearing simple sandals to (1) avoid unnecessary tan lines and (2)
because more
straps (especially around the
ankles) can make petite gals like me look even shorter.

strap sandals have quickly become my go - to pair
because they are a classic style, neutral color and, best of all, comfortable!
I mean... They're still heels, so I can't say they're super comfortable like flats, but
because they're «caged» in and have the adjustable
strap around the
ankle, I feel great walking in them!
I think if the shoes weren't navy then the
ankle strap would have to be a lot thinner, but
because they sort of blend into the pants it works with the thicker
strap.
