Penalties include potential
fines of between 0.1 and 20 per cent of the accountable organization's
annual revenues, or, if the entity's revenue is unknown, a
fine between R$ 6,000 and R$ 60 million, depending on — among other things — the seriousness of the infraction and whether the organization has internal integrity mechanisms designed to prevent corrupt practices.
In August of 2015, France made it illegal to «deliberately reduce the lifespan of a product to increase the rate of replacement,» which, according to the filed lawsuit, means that Apple could be facing criminal charges with
penalties including a
fine of 300,000 euros, five percent of the company's total
annual turnover, and «two years in prison.»
In glancing through the recent Real Estate Council of Ontario
Annual Report on activities and

penalties, I see an alarming number of cases like this.
