anticipated The Look Of Silence, Oppenheimer's companion piece to The Act Of Killing; The Connection, a 70's - set true crime epic and European flipside to William Friedkin's The French Connection starring Oscar ® winning Best Actor Jean Dujardin (The Artist); The Keeping Room, from director Daniel Barber (Harry Brown), based on Julia Hart's acclaimed Black
List screenplay, starring Brit Marling, Hailee Steinfeld and Sam Worthington; the multiple Cannes award winning The Tribe,
filmed entirely in Ukrainian Sign Language with a cast of deaf, non-professional actors; and a remastered re-release, in conjunction with Olive Films, of the 1981 disasterpiece Roar, the most dangerous
film ever made, starring Tippi Hedren, Melanie Griffith and a cast of 150 untrained lions, tigers and exotic animals.
Having won the Golden Lion at this year's Venice International Film Festival and a Special Filmmaking Achievement Award (but no mention in the ten best
films list) from the National Board of Review, Sofia Coppola's Somewhere is one of the more highly
anticipated independent releases of December, especially if you liked her previous
films.
And what we learned on set rocketed the
film to the top of our most -
anticipated list.

Anticipated Toronto Internatioal Film Festival
list just to narrow the field a little.
We looked at the year ahead and
film and, using math and numbers and such, compiled a staff
list of our 20 most
anticipated movies.
And so we went back to the grindstone to bring you this
list of 20 (plus a host of honorable mentions and also rans) of the
films that very well might have made it onto our Most
Anticipated list had we not already seen them, along with summaries of and links to our original reviews, and their release dates, where they have them.
We're nowhere nearer understanding what this
film is all about, but it was on our Most
Anticipated Films of Cannes
List and this just has us all the more excited to see it!
I am in no way saying this is a bad
film, and it's one I will probably rewatch multiple times when it hits Blu - ray, but with the talent involved and just how much I was
anticipating it ever since it was announced, it has to go on this

list has whetted our appetite for this year's festival with a large number of
films that cropped up on our Most
Anticipated Films of the Year
list looking like promising candidates.
What You Need To Know: The directorial debut of Akiva Goldsman, the screenwriter / producer behind not - so - good
films like «Batman & Robin,» «The Da Vinci Code» and «I Am Legend,» normally you might see a Goldsman project on our least
anticipated list.
