"Antique wax" refers to a type of wax that is used to polish and protect old, vintage objects or furniture. It enhances their appearance by adding a subtle sheen and contributes to preserving their natural beauty over time.

It definitely doesn't give it a glossy finish so maybe I'll have to try the finishing wax before applying
antique wax on my next project.
I would like to tone the gold down a hair by going over it with a bit
of antiquing wax.
If you give your table a light sand and
use antique wax it will definitely tone down the color.

Seed Antiquing wax - fairly generously over the wood parts and a teeny tiny bit on the arms where they would have gotten dirty.
The white pumpkins were already white, but I sprayed the little orange one with some leftover gold spray paint and then rubbed some of Miss Mustard Seed's
antiquing wax onto it to make it look kind of like old brass:
If you do want to
apply antiquing wax to the entire project, make sure to apply it very sparingly on the flat areas (mixing it with clear wax helps) and wipe it off immediately.
I wanted to try re-staining it with
only antiquing wax, just because I've never seen it done before and I wanted to see if it would work.

Yes, the green cabinet was sealed with a
brown antique wax however, the gray cabinet in the pantry was not sealed... yet.
I stripped the finish and sanded it down - then refinished the top with a custom stain and
antiquing wax after adding a bit of character to the smooth top.
The bottom piece is molding which I stained, on the left it's tinted with the same wax (it has Sterling Fusion Mineral Paint), the middle is just the stain and the right is
antiquing wax over the stain.
The metallic painted areas also got a coat

added antiqueing wax, regular wax, and two tarnished brass pulls to each drawer.
Any suggestions on if I should do a clear wax or
an antique wax?
The rest was painted and waxed with both clear and
antiquing wax.

So, find a good outdoor spray poly to best protect your piece and then once that's dry, apply the dark
antiquing wax.

Antiquing wax can be applied in these areas, but should be wiped almost completely off to give the paint a vintage look without making it look dirty as I explained in tip # 2.
To age this curbside find, I picked up
antique wax and used Americana Chalk paint in yesteryear.
That's where you want to apply
the antiquing wax.
I really tried to take it easy on
the antiquing wax on the frame since it was a pretty simple frame with no detail work.
Antiquing wax is meant to be applied in corners, crevices, etc. on a project where dust would normally catch and be hard to clean.

I redid some stools and used chalk paint, then sanded to rough up the edges, then put on a dark
antiquing wax, then finished with clear polyurethane.
