back the Start menu as it was, only with Modern UI
tiles and
apps that work between Desktop and Modern UI flawlessly.
It has all the main functionality displayed in these giant
tile icons, but just reverts
back to a regular
app drawer - like set up once you click the massive «Other» button.
If you want to put the
tiles back, you can simply go to the All
Apps view, right - click on the
app that has a live
tile, and choose to pin to the Start Menu again.
After you're done creating the new
tile, tap your device's
back button twice to head
back out to the Custom Quick Settings
app.

Back a little while ago, Dan let us all know about Battery Level for WP8, the
app specifically for Windows Phone 8 that allows you to keep an eye on your devices battery life using a live
tile.
Once you've configured the setting and wish to return to the Start screen, you hit
back to see the network status reported by the
app (to ensure it's all accurate and good to go) and then
back once again to see the Live
Tiles update to reflect the new status.
The nice thing about My Live
Tile is that it saves the
tiles so you can go
back to the
app and edit them as needed.

Tile isn't a bad Windows Phone 8
app but is held
back by cumbersome, at times frustrating, navigation.
It rather takes you
back to the look of early Windows Phone UI, having large
app tiles, and only the important
apps shown on the main screen.
Stick a
Tile to the
back of the remote, a keychain and even inside a suitcase when travelling, then register it into the iPhone
app to keep tabs on the things they just can't afford to lose.
