apple picking when you were a kid, but somehow apple picking is much more fun when you go as a grown up.
We used to go
apple picking when my kids were little.

I do not take it for granted, even though there are occasional afternoons

When grocery shopping ask your child to find the bananas (talk about them being yellow) and then the
apples (talk about them being either red, green or yellow) or have him
pick out the milk with the blue label, etc..
Or
when you ask the toy to give your child some medicine he
picks out
apples and oranges from the fruit bowl to give, or other random objects, like socks, or Lego.
I mean,
when there are things like
apple picking just ahead of us — and along with it, homemade applesauce (a fall essential)-- I can't be anything but thrilled.
Apples always taste better

The problem, of course, is that

pick up your fork and expect to taste baked
apples but get something else entirely, you're likely to wonder what the heck is wrong with the

apple picking they can be a fantastic dessert or even an interestingly sweet breakfast item for special occasions.
I simply love that moment
when I can devour an
apple picked straight from the tree.
