as increased the amount of spices a little bit.
Use whole - wheat flour in dense fruit cakes, such
as carrot or
applesauce cake.
Chunky
applesauce (
applesauce that is fork mashed
as opposed to blended) can add a nice texture to muffins and coffeebreads.
As a tip, I've been making granola with
applesauce instead of oil (and often leave out sugar too...) enough that it makes a thick almost batter in the pan — the down side, is that it takes about 90 minutes at low heat to cook.

applesauce for greek yogurt
