This another area where
applesauce works well as a replacement (and the good thing about adding applesauce is you can chuck the added sugar from the recipe as well, making it way healthier).

applesauce works best in this recipe (I use a no sugar added version from Trader Joe's), but in the past I've had success replacing applesauce with mashed bananas, gram for gram, and vice versa.

Banana and
applesauce work best as an egg replacer in recipes like pancakes, muffins and yeast - free quick breads, but they won't help your recipe be as light and fluffy as they would with eggs.

I would love to find a way to do without eggs so I will try a banana, 1 cup
applesauce and chia seed and see if that
works as I'm sensitive to eggs.
A banana smashed up or some
applesauce always seems to
work well with cookies too - although it may change the texture a bit.

We picked 5 tubs of apples from a neighbor's tree this week and canned almost 50 quarts of
applesauce — and still have 3 tubs to
work up.
I made them vegan by substituting the eggs for flax eggs and I didn't have any
applesauce handy so I mashed a banana and that
worked great!
Banana
works just as well as
applesauce, so use what you have / like.

works well with some healty substitutions (1/2 whole wheat flour 1/2 white, 1/2

I didn't have any
applesauce on hand so I just puréed a raw Apple... it
worked just fine.
Sorry it didn't
work out well for you - It does need to have a thick, doughy consistency - Adding more
applesauce would definitely make it thinner.

applesauce I would have used that instead and 1/3 cup Coconut flour.
1/4 cup coconut oil (other oils would
work,
applesauce could also be substituted, although results may vary with this substitution)
