Once Webster approved the lithograph impression, a variety of color combinations were developed until the final selection of 10 colors was reached to completely fill in the composition, requiring three carborundum
aquatint plates.

The range and richness of etched lines and traditional
aquatint is here achieved using magnesium
plates, cut up and pieced back together, combining areas of lace - like delicacy and passionate deep troughs.
For her edition for the Whitechapel Gallery Ramsden has made a single gesture or «swipe» directly onto the copper etching
plate, which has then been printed to create a varied edition of 35 sugar lift
aquatints.
