of shooter, anyone who has played any
of the
arcade shooters from back in the 90's are probably more familiar with this
sort of top - down scrolling space themed shooter style
of game.
Though fighting
games have

of their characters, only Mortal Kombat has really had any
sort of a real story beyond having one big villain that no one apparently did anything about, and in addition to its background mythology has had story modes in various
games from the franchise.

A Sega

sort of tragic work - experience / internship blunder.
Mechanically, that's most felt in the
game's streamlined progression system, which trades out the crafting, upgrade trees, and a traditional XP system for a «challenge» based structure that rewards you with perk points whenever you complete certain tasks, like completing the aforementioned «stashes,» racking up kills with a specific type
of weapon, traveling a couple
of kilometers in the wingsuit, or completing stages in the
game's «Far Cry
Arcade» mode (which offers both traditional multiplayer and a level creator that functions as a
sort of Mario Maker for Far Cry levels.)
The»80s was a Golden Age
of sorts for older
gamers,
arcade gaming was hitting its peak, consoles were coming out that far surpassed what came before, such as the NES, SNES, and all their competitors.
Be cool if they went the
gamer lounge route where they have some
sort of cafe with
arcade games and console units for people to play.
The
game is a fairly straightforward
arcade game, where invaders
of sorts are marching ever downward from the top
of the screen, while the player controls a laser cannon that is fixed at the bottom
of the screen, but can move laterally.
In most ways that matter, this is a fine conversion
of an enduring classic, and is exactly the
sort of game that makes Xbox Live
Arcade one
of the most exciting gaming platforms around.
Thankfully, we are in a console era that does allow titles to be patched in order to
sort out
games like Super Street Fighter IV:
Arcade Edition when the
gamers kick up enough
of a fuss.
