Whether first - party or third - party, the vast majority of

on any given Nintendo platform are over-the-top, wacky,
arcade racing games that are more focused
on casual fun instead of trying to provide an authentic driving
experience.
While it may not have the challenge and character of an F - Zero game, the blisteringly intense speed and futuristic rocket car design more than make up for it, delivering a blazing fast, gorgeous
experience for
arcade racing fans
on the WiiU.
The team grew up playing iconic,
arcade racing games so it is great to have the opportunity to re-imagine those
experiences on today's consoles and bring something fresh to the market.
A few less serious forms of
racing would do a lot to improve to the
experience and catapult it into the same realm as the greatest of
arcade racers, but what's
on offer represents a commendable attempt at changing the way we think about how competition is served in a
racing game.
Those of you looking for more of an
arcade racer may be better off looking elsewhere, especially at launch price, but if you're looking for a beautiful and in depth
racing experience then shelling out # 40
on Project CARS will be money well spent.
