Rise & Shine promises to fuse platformer, bullet hell and
arcade shooter into something new.

After seeing the awesome trailers, I was pumped for a game that gets away from the «
arcade - like»
shooters of cod and more
into a realistic type battleground with teamwork and strategy.
As you can see in the first real footage of this PlayStation Network and Xbox Live
Arcade game, Galaga Legions DX aims to fill our screens with thousands of Galaga armada ships, turning this series
into more of a space - bug hell
shooter than before.
This is no bad thing though, because Super Pang was quite frankly a brilliant example of furious
arcade shooter action and though it serves as the core inspiration for The Bug Butcher, the developers have done a cracking job of modernising the concept and sticking on the sorts of bells and whistles to bring it kicking and screaming
into 2016.
When things get dangerous, players can boost their gameplay with the G - 6155 Spy Hunter which can be rebuilt
into The Interdiver and Aerial Spyhunter, or the
Arcade Machine which rebuilds
into the 8 - Bit

Coming in «early 2008», Novastrike is a top - down
arcade shooter that straps you
into the cockpit (well, technically you're way above the aircraft looking down at it, but just go with it...) of an advanced prototype fighter aircraft, to help stave off the invading Draelus alien forces.

into the super casual high scoring genre.
As a general note, while I've never really been
into pattern - based
shooter hell games from the classic
arcade and beyond, I am a huge fan of many classic
arcade shooters and their modern counterparts.
Close Quarters isn't able to stir up the same emotions as BF3 did, and turns it
into a simple
arcade shooter, similar to many other first person
shooters out there.
I can't even begin to fathom how many quarters I put
into games like House of the Dead, Jurassic Park, and the other on - rails
shooters in my local
arcade once upon a time — but it's got to be a huge number.
What really destroys Evasive Space is the control scheme; a ham - handed attempt to incorporate Wii - mote waggling
into the
arcade -
shooter format.
It features multiple color - blind modes, and begins with subtitles enabled; and if like its predecessor it was simply an
arcade style
shooter, where the goal is not to progress with a single character through a story, but to jump
into the role of many characters and participate in the massive battles within the Star Wars universe on the level of a regular infantrymen, then Star Wars Battlefront 2 would be as accessible as its 2015 counterpart.
However, casual gamers and AfterBurner fans will be delighted at the addition of a basic control scheme that turns the experience
into an
arcade - style rail
shooter!
On first stepping
into the world of Rise and Shine it is genuinely hard not to be captivated by this truly pretty, lavishly illustrated take on the classic 2D
arcade platform
shooter.
It was still a challenge — the game is self - described as «hard - boiled
arcade shooter» so don't expect that to change — but it no longer felt like I was flailing and jumping around to try and stay alive and could start to see how enjoyable this game could be in co-op, advancing while your partner gives you covering fire before popping
into cover to cover your partner.
There's even a brilliantly post-modern moment where Pulseman zaps himself
into an
arcade shooter called Galaxy Gang and fights across a Gradius - like curtain of stars and boulders.
