of six
arts colleges and universities in the Boston
area, the ProArts Consortium, pushed the city to open the school and then guided Nathan through its first
year.

years to change STEM to STEAM — adding the

of further integrating creativity and artistic skills and processes across content

To qualify, students must complete at least one IB course in each
of six
areas: literature, foreign language, math, science,

year interdisciplinary seminar called Theory
of Knowledge.
Hawaii is currently experiencing teacher shortages in the
areas of high - school mathematics, science, agriculture, and industrial
arts, according to a report produced last

The Instructional Leadership strand is designed for individuals who have taught at least three
years, seek to increase their knowledge
of instruction and curriculum in their subject

areas such as coaching, curriculum development or teacher research.

The theory invites a great deal
of creativity in teaching and learning and over the last 35
years,
arts educators, in particular, have used the theory to develop
arts - integrated curricula that acknowledge the power
of artistic processes to produce and share knowledge across core subject
areas.
Our schools have a longer school day and
year, helping us keep our kids safe and engaged, ensure their success in core subject
areas, and give them an immersive, well - balanced education that includes exposure to the
