The so - called «hockey stick» curve — a graph my co-authors and I published a decade - and - a-half ago showing modern warming in the Northern Hemisphere to be unprecedented for at least the past 1,000 years — is one among other
areas of climate science where the evidence has become ever more compelling.

The politicization
of climate science (due in part to having Gore as the public face for so long) is one
of the primary reasons why there is so great public doubt even over the basics (leaving out
areas like sensitivity
where there are large and real scientific uncertainties).
There are lots
of areas where climate science orthodoxy skates on very thin ice, and
where doubt
of its validity rests on technically credible arguments; this is not one
of them.
I do not know
where «management» is located in regards to
Climate Science other than to say it's spread around pretty widely with some localized
areas of concentration.
So its going to turn into an
area where any true discussion based on the
science of the specific aspect — ice free Artic, sea level rise (when,
where and how much)-- will be missing and any chance
of actual education will be gone if the standard «opponents» get used in the discussions and they stick to their standard behaviors when discussing anything to do with
climate change.
