areas of the maths curriculum, and greater pupil understanding of how they interlink.

A child who is advanced in some
areas and slower in others (for instance a child with dyslexia who has excellent understanding
of maths) will not want to be limited by a

At least in
areas where there is a critical mass
of highly and exceptionally gifted
math students, a better solution may be to group them together in a magnet school with unusually rigorous classes that go above and beyond the normal «honors» or «advanced»
curriculum.
So, it was a real practical learning event that substituted, complemented, replaced aspects
of my
maths teaching for that two, three or four weeks and allowed me to backward - map some
of those outcomes into other
areas of the
curriculum as well.
