While some may have mixed
feelings about the
combat comeback (my husband recently asked me if I was going for the Seattle grunge band look, and luckily, I happen to be a serious Nirvana fan and the 90s will always hold a special place in my heart), I'm welcoming these stompers with open
arms.
but this game has: smoother gameplay, better
combat,
arm switching for cover, an amazing campaign, tighter and more intense multiplayer, deeper customization, more maps, maps from the past, improved visuals, great music to fit the game, and finally yes an escalations mode but it does
feel different enough in some areas to be a small plus.
Quill is also
armed with a sword and should the need arise is ready to duke it out with some strange looking mechanical bugs and the
combat, though simple, still
feels great and is never relied on to heavily to navigate the game.
With brilliant fast - paced
combat and a fun two -
armed fighting system,
Arms feels more like a shooting game at times with you «firing» your fists at opponents before pulling them back.
You'll also quickly notice how the game's
combat feels ripped right out of a Batman Arkham title, but instead you're
armed with a sword and powers that fit in just right with the universe.
The Condemned games wouldn't have been anywhere near as good without their frantic melee
combat, where you can practically
feel the impact running down your
arm as a pipe connects with an attackers» jaw.
