(CNN)- Florida school shooting survivor Alfonso Calderon said Wednesday that President Donald Trump's suggestion of
arming teachers and school staff with weapons to enhance school safety was a «terrible idea.»
Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump, after listening to a series of emotional stories and pleas to enhance school safety at the White House Wednesday, floated the idea of
arming teachers and school staff, an idea that was met with support from many of the attendees.
«Our students need more books, art and music programs, nurses and school counselors; they do not need more guns in their classrooms,» Eskelsen García said after Trump, in a listening session at the White House, proposed to
arm teachers and school staff in an attempt to prevent mass shootings.
