Former Secretary of Education Bill Bennett authored an opinion piece on Fox News last week announcing Conservative Leaders for Education, a new group that is calling on conservatives to raise their voices in the
debate around education reform and ESSA.
We think of parent trigger not as a new law, but as a new paradigm, as an entirely new way of thinking about public education and education reform and a break from the debate that has dominated the
conversation around education reform for a good part of the last decade.
At the conference, held at a hotel in Queens late last week, attendees discussed forming their own national organization of independent charters, to advocate for their interests and challenge the prevailing
narrative around education reform.
The movie's subject matter
revolves around education reform and a thing called the Parent Trigger, a California law that allows parents to take over a failing school.
