I've used
arrowroot powder several times in my
recipes and had no idea!
Arrowroot powder is another lesser known, alternative flour and I use it frequently in my
recipes.
In baking, I typically use
arrowroot powder as a blend with other flours, such as almond flour, coconut flour and tapioca flour for bread and dessert
recipes.
I've been looking for a good gingerbread
recipe to try and good to know about the
arrowroot powder too.
Some
recipes call for almond flour or a combination of coconut flour and some
arrowroot powder, but the cookie we always have in the freezer uses almond butter as a base and was created by Danielle Walker of Against all Grain blog and several cookbooks.
I love using
arrowroot powder, though I'm careful not to include it in GAPS / SCD
recipes, as you mentioned.

I used the last of my creamy cashew cheese sauce for this
recipe but if you don't have time to make the sauce beforehand, you can make a quick version using almond milk, garlic, nutritional yeast and
arrowroot powder or corn starch.
PS In most other GF / dairy - free
recipes, I have excellent success substituting tapioca starch or
arrowroot powder for potato starch (depending on the balance of other ingredients), but I'm stumped when it comes to potato flour.
I would like to try the bread 2.0
recipe but I would need to substitute the
arrowroot powder with sweet white sourgham flour.
Just for people to reference, this last time I substituted tapioca
powder for
arrowroot (my food store was out, sadly) and I doubled the
recipe and put it in the size of a normal loaf pan (I was becoming frustrated with small slices).

To «paleolize» this
recipe I replaced the traditional soy sauce with coconut aminos and made the chicken a little crispy using
arrowroot powder, however it can be easily omitted.

I am wondering if I can make the same
recipe replacing almond milk with regular milk and
arrowroot powder with tapioca starch?
My batch has less baking soda and
arrowroot powder (or corn starch) than some
recipes I've seen because I experienced skin irritation from these ingredients at a higher ratio.
You have soooo many delicious - looking
recipes, but I noticed many of them call for
arrowroot powder.
I have used this

The last time I made tortillas, I rolled them out between two sheets of wax paper, eliminating the need for the
arrowroot powder in this

I now have an updated version of this

arrowroot powder instead, it's not raw though.
For the orange colour in this
recipe, I used carrot juice, concentrated down with some
arrowroot powder for a vibrant but not too runny colouring, it worked wonderfully!

As for some people being sensitive to baking soda, I have heard you can make it with either less baking soda / more
arrowroot powder (my
recipe is half and half of each), or with just the
arrowroot powder.

I keep
Arrowroot on hand for thickening sauces when cooking and it also gets added to a lot of natural

One solution here is to just remove the baking soda from the original
recipe, and use equal parts of shea butter, coconut oil and
arrowroot powder with essential oils for scent, though some people find this isn't as effective as the
recipe with baking soda.
