This was one of the biggest surprises of 2015, a game that cleverly blended the history and tropes of the slasher flick (under the steady, brilliant hand of writer / director / actor Larry Fessenden) with the capabilities of the PS4 and the modern
art of motion capture.
And, of course, Andy Serkis continues to do remarkable things with
the art of motion capture.

art models still struggle to
capture the flutter from large flapping
motions at the end
of a long beam — like gusting wind along the length
of a diving board.
Zemeckis has always been a superb craftsman, with a particular gift for assimilating technical advances in the
art of moviemaking, but he lost over a decade
of his creative life pursuing the sterile
art of motion -
capture animation, nearly getting lost in the uncanny valley for good.
In fact, the only real story in story mode is in the prerendered movies between chapters, and while they're bordering on well made (the modeling and

When: December 21st Why: As someone who isn't a particularly big fan
of Steven Spielberg or the
art of motion -
capture movies, it might seem strange to admit that I'm actually looking forward to «The Adventures
of Tintin.»
That critique comes to the fore in a brilliant, Buñuelian performance -
art sequence that will lodge itself in your brain for days, built around a terrifying turn by Terry Notary, whose animal / creature

capture work you may have seen in «Kong: Skull Island» and the recent «Planet
of the Apes» movies.
