I was apparently on the right track with the recipe I've presented below,
as just a day or two after making it, my Pinterest feed was filled with
Chambord recipes, one very similar to the below, the
Chambord Spritz.
So when this week's #SundaySupper theme was announced
as Simple Mixed Drinks for a Refreshing Summer, I immediately knew that I wanted to make a cocktail with
Chambord as the star.
After tossing around a few ideas, I decided upon some sort of
Chambord sangria, with a light white wine
as a base.
The sweet - sour drink worked for my young palate, but
as I got older and was introduced to a much larger variety of good quality liquors (not the junk we drank in college), I grew to appreciate a nice glass of
Chambord on the rocks.
Davio's Cucina's beverage menu includes a vast selection of spirits, premium alcohol and refreshing mixers, in addition to an array of signature cocktails such
as the Cucina Limone (Ketel One Citron, homemade Lemon Sour,
Chambord), Forbidden Florence (Hendricks Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Campari, Grapefruit) and Upper East Side (Goslings Rum, Sweet Vermouth, Bitters) priced at $ 12.
But I've used the jarred cherries to make this Cherry
Chambord Cream Dream
as well, and although the drink won't seem quite
as cold, they'll do just fine.
Wine is an option, but more people opt for specialty cocktails, such
as the French Kiss with champagne and
Chambord, and a Petrossian caviar martini.

as the Molecule of Love, a mellow blend of
Chambord raspberry liqueur, Malibu and strawberry flavoured caviar pearls to make it pop.
If you can't find the chocolate wine, raspberry liqueur (
Chambord or schnapps, for example) will work,
as well.
