The CM 12.1 Stable Release is based on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop AOSP builds, so you should be getting all the vanilla Android improvements,
as well
as tons of extra features designed by the
CyanogenMod team.
Things seem to be working fairly well for an early build, which is based on
CyanogenMod 9, but audio doesn't work consistently and there are some video glitches
as well.
It's quite remarkable that the original Samsung Galaxy S is still getting the kind of support it's receiving from
CyanogenMod, and the development community
as a whole.
As you might know the
CyanogenMod 10 Jelly Bean preview build was already released and you can test it using this guide here.
But this announcement comes
as a warning to those who likes to tinker with the default OS and change it for other custom builds like
CyanogenMod releases.
It seems like the International Samsung Galaxy S2 devices are still supported by the
CyanogenMod team,
as the CM 12.1 Nightly builds have just been released for it.
