As Richard Ferber himself acknowledges,
graduated extinction doesn't teach children how to fall asleep on their own (Ferber 2006).
Unfortunately,
as I note below, no study yet has met the first criterion (contrasting
graduated extinction with species - normal nighttime care), let alone all of them.
