The Incredible Adventure of Van Helsing is on paper nothing new to an already swamped open world RPG but still with so much nods and winks to other games such
as Torchlight and Diablo, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing still manages to somehow keep my attention and keep me entertained throughout the entire experience, which is great news for all of you because I can recommend yet another open world action RPG to you.
Titles such
as Torchlight and Diablo III are time - sinks, sucking away your precious life hours.
Back then, the Action RPG isometric loot - gathering dungeon crawler genre was pretty popular with titles such
as Torchlight, Sacred, Path of Exile and more, all benefiting from this newly popular style of gameplay.
It's easy to see those influences in the video, which shows characters running around an overworld from an isometric perspective, much like Diablo or games inspired by it, such
as Torchlight.
It's not as addictive as Diablo III, not as pretty
as Torchlight 2.
The House Party rages on for another week
as Torchlight hits the Xbox Live Marketplace today.

This game is named
Torchlight, but
as much resemblance it has with the Diablo franchise, it would have made a great name
as «Diablo 2.5».
Added features in
Torchlight such
as the pet system and robust modding tools truly distinguish the game
as an entirely different beast.
I'm going to be a little bold here and say that I did not find
Torchlight to be nearly
as fun or exciting
as most people did.

as they approached the cell.
Beginning on December 30, this Scottish city kicks things off with a
torchlight procession, an event involving over 35,000 people, open flames and what appears to be bearded men dressed
as vikings.
The natural light dropped
as we moved further underground and the
torchlight reflected off the ambient water.
This brought to light a problem that plagued Diablo 3 and unfortunately
Torchlight 2
as well: Difficulty is a complete guessing game.

Runic Games has announced that its budget priced action adventure game
Torchlight has surpassed 500,000 in sales
as of a few weeks ago and has officially gone Gold.
Admittedly the game does revolve around you killing one particular baddy who's got a certain demonic tendancy, such
as a great love for slaughtering entire towns and such, but the
Torchlight world doesn't revolve around any grand mystical conflict.

as they explore your dungeons, something both
Torchlight games managed to do so in spades.
Torchlight doesn't overthrow it, but it's nearly
as good and different enough to be worth playing.
In terms of sales, this year's House Party has been on par with last year's Block Party, which had Toy Soldiers, Scrap Metal and Perfect Dark, though both Perfect Dark and Toy Soldiers sold better than this year's selection, the sales of
Torchlight, Beyond Good and Evil and Full House Poker have been great
as well.
When things are done right, you have games such
as Diablo,
Torchlight, or Dark Alliance, games that are a lot of fun to play and border on addicting.
The Mass Effect and Operation Flashpoint games are also cheap
as chips, while the indie loving is brought to you courtesy of Limbo, SkyDrift and
Torchlight.
In This week's CO-OP with CoG, Confusion runs rampant
as we get lost and then accidentally pick up the wrong quest in
Torchlight 2.
Players who have not yet experienced
Torchlight would do good to check this game out,
as it is one of the highest - quality action / RPGs currently available on Xbox Live, and well worth the 1200 Microsoft points ($ 15, which is significantly less than the regular price for the Steam version of the game).
Diablo 1 & 2 implemented one thing that has showed up in games such
as Borderlands and
Torchlight and has made the Diablo series loved: loot.
Torchlight is an MMORPG Dungeon Crawler / ARPG hybrid title that features gameplay that is similar in style to other games such
as the Diablo franchise.
It's one that is for those that like the easy - grind style of titles such
as Diablo,
Torchlight, and Sacred.
The levels are randomly generated and though they're not
as well done
as the randomly generated levels in
Torchlight 2, they're pretty good.
Torchlight II can be
as forgiving
as the first
Torchlight if that's what you want.
Exactly what else might be in the mix is a mystery right now
as there isn't a ton of info about the game
as of yet on this the first entry since 2012's
Torchlight 2.
I've dabbling with Commandos, Magicka, Serious Sam, Unreal Tournament, Spelunky (
as always) and laterally
Torchlight II.
The title combines elements of traditional RPGs with gameplay reminiscent of dungeon crawlers such
as Diablo and
Torchlight.

The actual combat doesn't feel
as polished
as games like Diablo 3 &
Torchlight 2.
There are some seriously awesome titles in the line up
as well, which include the Beyond Good & Evil HD remake and PC classic
Torchlight.
This year's other long awaited hack and slash sequel finally has a release date,
as devolpers Runic Games took to their fourms to announce a September 2o release date for
Torchlight II.
Torchlight II would be successful
as a RETAIL 360 release, honestly.
Had my eye on this for a while
as I love games like Crimson Alliance and
Torchlight.
I've never played Diablo 3, but it seems that
Torchlight II is universally reviewed
as a better game.
Torchlight II is nothing short of fantastic and it improves on the original in every way, plus it stands tall next to Diablo III [which costs three times
as much and does not support mods].
Diablo and
Torchlight need to watch their back, because Umbra
as some serious potential to take the hack «n slash action RPG genre by storm.
