We offer lactation, sleep, and parenting consultations as
well as birth doula and postpartum caregiver placement.
Prior to my work as a therapist, I worked four years full
time as a birth doula helping women and their families during pregnancy and childbirth in a variety of settings.
She began her birth professional journey in early 2015, training
as a birth doula with Childbirth International.
She is certified through DONA
International as a birth doula and also enjoys supporting mothers with postpartum care, where she holds a certification with Pro Doula.
In addition, Courtney is a certified Gestalt Therapist and holds a certification
as a birth doula through DONA International.
After teaching for six years, being trained in various methodologies and attending over 120
births as a birth doula, and a Master's degree; it is hard for me to tell you exactly how a class will shape itself.
Since that time, she has completed training in optimal maternal and fetal positioning through Spinning Babies and
served as a birth doula for several amazing families in Chicago.
She has spent the past three years supporting
families as a Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Lactation Educator.
When I began my
journey as a Birth Doula I was immediately blessed to have been surrounded my amazing mentors, these women paved the way before me, they laid the foundation and began building relations with key people who could help make the birthing world a better place.
She has a degree in Anthropology from Missouri State University and decided to pursue a
career as a birth doula after the birth of her third child.

I am currently certifying through Childbirth International
as a Birth Doula although I have been assisting friends and family with the birth process since 2009.

I understand that the instructor will make every effort to hold class as scheduled,
however as a Birth Doula she could be called away to attend the birth of a client, should this happen you will receive an email from her as soon as she knows that she will not be in attendance and notification that class will be rescheduled for a later date and time.

In 1985 my family settled in Monterey and became civilians; I had informally been with
women as a birth doula, then I started «After the Stork», a postpartum doula service that was perfect for my new mom schedule; kiddos in school for a few hours a day!
