Of course, the optical
trackpad works
as it did on previous devices, giving you an additional option
for navigation and interaction, although we found we used it sparingly.
As for the
trackpad underneath the keyboard, it's decently sized and overall accurate, but did not support multi-touch gestures in our tests.
The build is plasticky, but not offensive, and we're also not huge fans of the
trackpad, but otherwise the T100 gets a whole lot right: full Windows 8.1, a battery life that lasts out
for ages, Microsoft Office on board and,
as we've touched upon many times, a price point that opens up Windows 8.1 to a wider audience.

It's not perfect — there are clear generational improvements to be made in the screen tech in particular, and the
trackpad needs a tweak — but this is a tablet that really can double
as a laptop
for light duties.
As I mentioned in my reviews of the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and the BlackBerry Torch 9850, the ideal control scheme
for the OS 7 UI is having both the
trackpad and the touchscreen controls.
The
trackpad doesn't feel
as good
as some of the metal or glass ones I've used before, Dell instead opting to go
for a standard plastic design.
It was both precise and sensitive enough
for us to believe the
trackpad may indeed function
as advertised.
In addition to the
trackpads is a central high - resolution touchscreen that is geared
for browsing your Steam library and using Steams Community features such
as chat.
But these will be the first machines to actually use Valve's controller, which is supposed to be a major selling point — it's
as couch - friendly
as an Xbox or PlayStation pad, but the analog sticks have been replaced with (allegedly) more precise
trackpads and virtually every control on it can be remapped
for specific games.

for hardware without a physical mouse /
trackpad and keyboard, the new Logitech K380 keyboard and M535 mouse bring some interesting features to the table,

for long periods, but having the option and being able to have Netflix playing in one window while writing about Android things in another on a 27 - inch monitor was quite nice.

for the larger XL model.
This is similar to the Samsung DeX Station that was released with the Galaxy S8, but this one allows you to use the device

for more RAM now, if you can get past the lofty price tag — even
as an Apple fan — then prepare to enjoy what's surprisingly the best MacBook in years — Pro or otherwise.

as a configurable button pad, depending on if you hold a command or just quickly tap it instead.
