This to me indicates that when it is
used as an ereader it would be much harder on the eyes over time.
I bought it mainly
as a ereader for PDF reports and I was attracted by the option of using Android apps.

hampered as the ereader is in use by either parents or siblings.
It's best for folks who have been looking at a tablet
as an ereader first and who will slowly discover the other features.
What did it for me was discovering that I could use my cell
phone as an eReader — life as usual plus books wherever you are.
I was using it

Keep in mind that a lot of the dimensions that are left don't matter as much to

Quality is already a big issue
as ereading apps» developers and vendors must manage (CSS overrides, KePub which was a radical solution for enhancing the overall quality of the crappy files they had to sell, etc.) the unmanageable a.k.a HTML and CSS a web dev would die just looking at it since even basic HTML markup is not done properly, let's hope the devs they hire will do things well.
That'll change
as ereaders become cheaper but that's a constraint on usage / acceptance now.
If the previous questions set up survey respondents to think of the iPad
as an eReader then it clubbed together people buying an iPad for any reason with people buying a device for reading.
Kobo recently revealed the Vox, which although
described as an eReader has some suspiciously tablet - like features, such as e-mail, video, Web browsing and the ability to run Android apps.
Although 10 - inch tablets in general aren't
recommended as ereaders, one of the key selling points for them is movie playback, and you'll need to keep two firm hands on the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 if you're going to make it through a feature length film.
Last year I was a little disappointed with the Kindle Fire

as ereading features go, the Kindle Fire HD offers notes, highlights, bookmarks, X-Ray to learn more about the book, sharing via Facebook and Twitter, syncing last page read and annotations across multiple devices and apps, search, dictionary look - up, and portrait and landscape mode.
Its high - contrast screen (16 levels of grey) didn't seem to be bothered by the bright lights in the demonstration area, and I assume it'll do fine in bright sunlight
as all eReaders do.
If the study were to say «eReader ownership doubled once Kindle 3 came out» or if it counted Nook
Color as an eReader then a doubling would make sense — but not otherwise.
Granted there is still backlighting so it isn't exactly the
same as an ereader, but if you're looking to get a demo of how the fonts look, try and ebook, formatting, etc it's well worth downloading the freebies to check out the software.
As ereaders gain in popularity and become more mainstream, too, I'm increasingly asked which model I'd go for and, more often, whether I'd pay extra for those with integrated 3G or save my money and opt for WiFi - only instead.
