Researchers found moderate evidence that the antidepressants
duloxetine and venlaxine, which act
as serotonin - norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, were effective in reducing neuropathy - related pain.
These will include tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs; amitriptyline, clomipramine, nortriptyline, desipramine, imipramine, etc), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs; escitalopram, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, etc) and serotonin - norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs; venlafaxine,
duloxetine),
as well
as novel agents mirtazapine and nefazodone.
