I like that Moverman has thought cinematically about the presentation of the indigent and mentally ill in a large

Ghosts; which focuses on the anonymous activists of Raqqa, who are being slaughtered silently in the heartland of ISIS's self - declared caliphate.
Islamic State,
as might be imagined, is well aware of what these men are doing, and «
City of
Ghosts» explores the price, both psychological and physical, of being in the cross hairs of what one of the group calls «the most dangerous organization in the world.»
It sports a great soundtrack full of cover songs (everybody from The Pixies to The Eurhythmics gets a trip through the revamp machine) and Björk to comment (cleverly, I guess) on how every idea in the film is ripped off from other flicks
as varied
as Ghost in the Shell, Hellboy, the Lord of the Rings flicks, Kill Bill, Sin
City, and — why not?
This isn't just showing the Kremlin and then going to the studio (a la Mission: Impossible —
Ghost Protocol) but combining live action and CGI
as destruction tears across the
city.
