There are many traditional English recipes, some very old, using either crystalized
ginger, or
ginger preserved in syrup, mostly in cakes and
biscuits,
as well
as the
ginger beer.
I make gingerbread
biscuits for Christmas every year, and my tip would be to add about 5 times the amount of
ginger that the recipe says (
as well
as some cinnamon and nutmeg).
Of late it's been the
ginger biscuits I made
as a kiddo, usually when I was bored or avoiding homework.
