Oral drugs for humans (hypoglycemic medications) such
as glipizide rarely work in controlling diabetes in cats.
Tell your veterinarian if your pet is being given probenecid, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) such as etodolac, carprofen or piroxicam or a diabetes medication such
as glipizide.
I have not had success in dogs and cats using oral glucose control drugs such
as Glipizide.

Furthermore, the best part is that the study is just one among dozens; a large review of 14 studies found that berberine is as effective as pharmaceutical oral diabetes drugs such

Glipizide and Glyburide, present in pills such
as Glucotrol and Micronase that may be taken by people with diabetes, can dangerously lower a cat's blood sugar if ingested, resulting in wobbliness, confusion, seizures, and death.
As with all prescribed medicines,
glipizide should only be given to the dog / cat for which it was prescribed.
