While personally, I've no reason to doubt the truth of that statement,
as a member of the legal profession for the past 20 (+) years, I sometimes have questioned whether others in the profession would argue against it.

of the court or in one's private dealings with
members of the public.
As we face declining dues - paying membership and an increasingly complex marketplace, it's imperative that the ABA transform to better meet the needs
of our
members, the
legal profession, and the public.
Some lawyers and
members of the
legal profession have made independent efforts to make family law more accessible,
as I detailed last year.
As was observed by Henry James MP, at another time
of unprecedented radical change some 140 years ago, «those who had to frame and introduce a measure
of legal reform had sometimes to contend with -LSB-...] with

legal profession, who might think that their interests would be affected by any change in the existing system.»

Collectively, lawyers are encouraged to enhance the

of law school projects and participation in panel discussions,
legal education seminars, bar admission courses and university lectures; (b) participating in
legal aid and community
legal services programs or providing
legal services on a pro bono basis; (c) filling elected and volunteer positions with the Society; (d) acting
as directors, officers and
members of local, provincial, national and international bar associations and their various committees and sections; and (e) acting
as directors, officers and
members of non-profit or charitable organizations.
The United States may have have Don'tDateHimGirl.com, but Ireland has RateYourSolicitor.com, a Web site that encourages consumers to rate
members of the
legal profession as poor, average, good or «avoid.»

members of the
legal profession who see the Ontario Reports
as a mechanism for creating a sense
of community among
members of the
legal profession as well

members, the

as it is undertaken in a manner that will not cause interference or disruption with the proceeding or hearing.
As a
member of numerous volunteer committees, both inside and outside the
