I'm partial to my version, but
as long
as you use refrigerated EXTRA-firm
tofu (here in KC, look for Central Soyfoods»
organic tofu), and enough salt and nutritional yeast, you can't really go wrong.
Instead opt for adding more whole foods to your diet — shop the perimeter of the grocery store and stock up on vegetables, fruits, legumes (beans) and nuts,
as well
as unprocessed meat, seafood or
organic tofu for protein.
It provides plenty of protein from the (
organic GMO - free) silken
tofu and nuts,
as well
as healthy unsaturated fats.
You could also add shelled edamame (young green soybeans) or cooked sliced
organic chicken or
tofu before serving (I added some chicken to mine,
as you can see in the picture above).
Choose
organic and get the least processed type of soy possible, such
as edamame, block
tofu, or tempeh.
