The premium property facing the south end of Grant Park is a blank slate, but not for long as its owner makes plans for the site.

Under Phelps» direction, the park board has several big projects on its agenda, such as the renovation of the historic Main Beach beach house, and the lawsuit against several shoreline property owners over who owns the lake bed.

As negotiations continue between Lake in the Hills and Cary over the fate of the Hoffman Farm along Illinois Highway 31, new maneuvers by the two villages and the property owner have become almost a daily occurrence.
