Citi ThankYou Rewards points are getting more and more valuable as Citi keeps adding to its list of transfer partners (Turkish Airlines and Jet Airways are recent additions) and,
as rewards currencies go, you could do a lot worse.
On top of everything the BA Visa earns you Avios and,
as reward currencies go, it really isn't one of the better ones.
Secondly: Rocketmiles failed to show inventory for 2 out of 3 New York hotels when British Airways Avios or Virgin Atlantic Flying miles were selected
as the reward currency.
Not exact matches
This is probably the most common use of digital
currency for individuals and non-professionals:
as an alternative, risky, potentially very
rewarding sort of asset class.
Although each Hilton point isn't
as valuable
as one point from another
currency, like Chase Ultimate
Rewards, the card's high earning rate makes up for it.

Citi ThankYou Points often seem to fly under the radar compared to more well - known transferable
currencies such
as Chase Ultimate
Rewards and American Express Membership
Rewards.
As a bottom line,
currency trading is very
rewarding, yet very risky.
I didn't think the «normal» sapphire was still being offered, but anyways I would not recommend it
as the Sapphire preferred is so much superior and well worth the $ 95 / annual fee, which you can get back with the ability to make freedom points (either unlimited at 1.5 X's or regular) into Ultimate
rewards points, the no foreign transaction fees (remember not to go for the trick: would you like this in
currency x or in dollars - it's tempting to go for a dollar dominated transaction, but in essence, the way I understand it, you get charged a «transaction fee» to go from the home foreign
currency into dollars, whereas the CSP card already pays for this transaction fee, so it's really a tricky semi-scam in my opinion.
While this offer doesn't seem
as big
as any of the others on this list, Ultimate
Rewards are the most valuable
currency out of any of the cards that currently have increased sign up bonuses.
Since I do my best to redeem
rewards currencies roughly
as quickly
as I earn them, I never want to find myself with empty account balances and no way forward to earn more.
Citibank deserves kudos for working hard to improve their program, even though I wrote a takedown of it a few months ago

In the
rewards card world, they are known
as a «flexible points
currency» — meaning you can redeem points for a variety of options, including travel, merchandise, gift cards and cash back.
Though for the record, you do not get anywhere near
as many
rewards points when conducting your transactions using chickens
as your
currency of choice.
The LANPASS card
rewards miles, but the LANPASS program uses kilometers
as its
currency.

The drawback to the Ritz card is that you won't be earning a
rewards currency that transfer out to
as many partners (at good ratios) so you lose that but if your priority is getting lounge access to a handful of authorized users, you could easily save a couple of hundred bucks by going with the Ritz - Carlton card.

reward currency for the British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, AerClub, Vueling Club and Meridiana Club,

Buying products and services with your card, in most cases, will count
as a purchase; however, the following types of transactions won't count and won't earn
Rewards points: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign
currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash - like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.
I'm not loving the fact that the main airline
rewards currency I'll be collecting is Avios but,
as I've explained in a separate post, the minimum spend criteria that American Airlines now imposes on elite qualification makes reaching BA Gold considerably cheaper — so I'm just going to have to learn to live with Avios and make sure I collect more useful
currencies through credit card spend.
The Heathrow

IAG's two biggest airlines (Iberia and BA) both have their own separate loyalty programs but both use Avios

Rewards are the best type of points to have.
I get the overwhelming majority of my Hyatt points via transfers from Chase Ultimate
Rewards and,
as I much prefer to hold transferable
currency balances than balances with individual loyalty programs, I rarely large number of points in my Hyatt account.
