Many intertidal organisms, such
as sea hares, have adapted to short periods of exposure to air and naturally wander into the upper intertidal, but appear to be suffering and drying out.
On a side note, I have observed that it is extremely important to specifically feed marine invertebrates such
as crabs, hermit crabs, snails,
sea hares, starfish, anemones and many others.
