Akitas are prone to various skin disorders, some of an autoimmune nature, such
as sebaceous adenitis.
These look just the same
as sebaceous hyperplasias to the naked eye but tend to occur in larger breeds and usually on the eyelids or head.
First described in 1842 by Gustav Simon, a French dermatologist, Demodex mites are normal skin inhabitants of many mammals, and > 140 species of Demodex have been identified (2 in humans, 3 in dogs).1 The mites live in hair follicles as well
as the sebaceous glands and ducts and feed off of sebum, cells, and debris from the epidermis.2, 3 In dogs, the mites are passed from the bitch to her puppies through close contact while nursing.

Also, Poodles may suffer from hip dysplasia,
sebaceous adenitis, Cushing's disease, Addison's disease, and gastric dilatation - volvulus, so be aware of the signs for those conditions in your Clumberdoodle
as well.
Certain breeds such
as Standard Poodles, Vizslas, Akitas and Samoyeds suffer from deep pyoderma or infection
as a result of the condition
sebaceous adenitis.
