spam filter where neither I nor my readers will see have to see them.

Some specific campaign tactics backfired

Spamming an IP is dickish behaviour (
as you may have guessed, I'm not the slightest bit convinced you're separate people), but you clearly know the game well and have made informative
comments.
Other blog owners will dismiss a
comment as spam based on the fact that the link does not match the same industry
as their blog.
So any
comment by any author can be seen
as spamming and grounds for banishment from the site.
(The Akismet plugin will eliminate
spam from your forms
as well
as your blog
comments.)
What this does is add what's known
as a «CAPTCHA», mostly used on contact forms to eliminate email and
comment spam.
What happened with the romance community thread is that,
as readers
commented on the topic, several authors hijacked the thread,
spamming it with everything from angry spews to jokes from joke books, anything to derail the

comments need to be relevant and add value to the blogs you're leaving them on; otherwise they will be ignored
