I tried to develop this recipe exclusively with coconut sugar (because I always like to keep the ingredient list
as concise
as possible), but in this case a
liquid sweetener was also necessary to provide enough moisture and sweetness.
I used

liquid sweeteners will not do,
as they aren't sticky enough.

You can use other
liquid sweeteners (date syrup, coconut nectar, Bee Free Honee, agave nectar, brown rice syrup, etc.) but I can't guarantee quite

If you are making baked goods I would replace the
liquid sweetener with exactly the same amount of date syrup
as it may alter the consistency if you change the quantity of wet ingredients.
Substitutions • Chipotle: fresh jalapeño, seeded and chopped, or 1 teaspoon chili powder • Agave nectar: coconut nectar or any other

If you are sure none of your ingredients have gone off and you still want to be able to drink your smoothie you can try adding some extra dried fruit, some other
liquid sweetener such
as agave nectar or maple syrup.
Either add more sweet fruit such
as banana or mango, or dried fruit such
as dates, raisins or a
liquid sweetener like agave nectar.
Then add a little fun, like nuts, a
sweetener of choice (I chose to use juice
as my
liquid and opted out of a
sweetener) and you have magic in your mouth.

I'm sure it would be possible to do, but it would take some experimenting to find the right balance of flour, apple sauce, and
liquid sweetener, and even then, this is such a moist cake that I'm afraid the results wouldn't be
as good.
If you will be adding a
sweetener to it, to ensure the consistency stays thick for whoopie pies or cheese cakes, then it is recommended to add a powdered
sweetener such
as coconut sugar, cane sugar, or maple sugar, ground fine to a powder, opposed to a
liquid sweetener that will thin it out a bit.
