we ask from our foster homes is that a loving home be provided; basic obedience, house and kennel training be worked on; and socialization done.

When a child is removed
from his / her parents»
home by the police,
foster homes like ours get calls at all hours of the day or night by the
foster care agency
asking if we can take in a child.
Ask the worker what behaviors the child has; they may know especially if the child is coming to you

ask that our adopters wait several weeks before making this determination since moving a dog
from their
foster home to their adopted
home is always an anxiety - provoking experience for them and they need time to adjust.
Some of our dogs come into Luv A Chin Rescue via owner surrenders - individuals or families that can no longer keep them, some are strays that found their ways to a local shelter and some come
from responsible breeders that have
asked us to help them get ready for a new
home through our
foster families.
A portion of the dogs pictured here are in volunteer
foster homes for a rescue, in which case there is usually a phone interview, an adoption application to fill out and a
home check to be done, varying
from group to group... most all
ask for a fee (average is $ 300 - 450) and have a contract to sign regarding the adoption.

from the shelter and
ask who's willing to
foster a dog since we can only save a dog if we have a
foster home to put it in.
A couple of weeks later on August 26, I get a distraught e-mail
from Boucher
asking if I can help her find a place to board some dogs while she searches for
foster homes.
Foster homes are
asked to provide
foster animals with plenty of love, adequate food and water, shelter
from the elements and exercise.
Whenever feasible, you'll be
asked to bring your dog to a designated intake location, or to participate in transporting at least part of the way if you are a long distance
