One of my
sisters - in - law (who has three grown children and five grandchildren) remains convinced that
babies need to cry in order to fall
asleep.
My parents were there, too, and it was a lovely, laid - back vibe: my
sister's
baby fast
asleep in the swing, her 3 - year - old and mine playing quietly in the next room, and the adults enjoying a glass of wine.
I started by telling my sons how much I loved bedtime, how I loved lying in bed with my youngest son in the evening and how I loved this special time I got to spend with just them while their
baby sister was
asleep.
So my
sister, brother - in - law, niece and nephew were here for the past 4 days and now they're gone and I'm sad A few things I've realized... 1) it's impossible to hold a sleeping
baby and not fall
asleep too and 2) 19 months old (my nieces age) is probably the funnest age ever!
