aspiring film critics that took place during the 55th edition of the New York Film Festival.
When I asked her what advice she would give to
aspiring film critics, she said to write as much as possible, especially before you have to start making a living by it.

If I wanted to be cynical (I always want to be cynical) I'd say that some
critics want to distinguish themselves by looking down on blockbuster fare and claiming to like
films that
aspire to be highbrow.
