Assistance Dog Placement Program.
Applicants with disabilities who need the
assistance of a
dog in public spaces are seeking to partner a working service
dog (SD).
IADW recognizes and honors
assistance dogs, raises awareness and educates the
public about
assistance dogs, honors puppy raisers and trainers and recognizes heroic deeds performed by
assistance dogs in our communities.

In addition to the official mission of the SAFE Center, it is utilized for a grant funded reduced cost clinic and to provide
assistance with the medical needs of
dogs being placed by various rescue groups.The SAFE Center has the capacity to hold 106
dogs, 80 cats or small
dogs and 30 horses and is located on the premises of the Department of Veterinary Science and
Public Health.
ADEu and the European Guide
Dog Federation (EGDF) will be lobbying together
in Brussels to get the Equal Treatment Directive onto the agenda of the European Commission, and to gain
public access for all
assistance dogs and those
in training.
Training the
dogs to work
in public settings is the most demanding part of an
assistance dog's education.
