Scientists are still working to understand the causes of this change, as it takes close to a decade to establish the pace of post-fire
regeneration at any given site, and Western wildfires have been growing progressively more severe over the past 25 years.
Specifically, Sullivan and his team were interested in the previous observation that the diversity of ocean
viruses at any given site was as high as that observed globally.
Cloud base height is also included in the output files (when
available at a given site) that users can determine whether clouds are likely to be liquid or ice, which depends on the site and season.
The presence of
clathrates at a given site can often be determined by observation of a «bottom simulating reflector» (BSR), which is a seismic reflection at the sediment to clathrate stability zone interface caused by the unequal densities of normal sediments and those laced with clathrates.
