No need
at all to put it on the stove if you have a Vitamix or
Blendtec.
It's so easy make customized nut / seed butters
at home - all you need is a food processor or high speed blender (I used a
Blendtec blender for this recipe).
And look
at all you big time foodies giving away
blendtec blenders left and right.
I don't have a blender but was
at Costco last week and fell in love wih the
Blendtec.....
Blendtec uses a dull blade so it can literally pulverize the foods you throw
at it.
We did end up making a change to the recipe from
Blendtec recipe, they used fresh vine - ripened tomatoes, but since we didn't have any
at the time, I used some canned whole tomatoes.
If you are not using a high - speed blender (like Vitamix of
Blendtec) for this recipe, I recommend soaking your cashews for
at least 30 minutes before attempting this recipe.
I've owned a
Blendtec blender for
at least 10 years and I use it as much or more than any other piece of equipment in my kitchen.
Also, I bought a bag of psyllium husk
at the Bulk Barn (in Canada) and used our
Blendtec blender to powder it.
* A note on the blender used in these photos — I normally use a high - speed
Blendtec, but these photos were taken
at Masha's house, who only has an Oster.
At the time, I liked that the
Blendtec was shorter and easier to store, though as mentioned, that has been resolved with newer Vitamix models.
If you have a
Blendtec, the Twister Jar makes this part extremely easy and you will not need to add as much oil, if any
at all.
It doesn't really blend things up like my
Blendtec, but I'd rather use it short - term than not
at all.
If you don't have a grain mill
at home, some grains will blend well in a strong blender, such as a Vitamix or
Blendtec.
I'm still dreaming of the day I can get my hands on a Vitamix or
Blendtec blender (I had a bad experience with the Ninja blender as a piece of plastic
at the base chipped off after blending frozen bananas).
