at a lackadaisical pace that tends to prevent the viewer from wholeheartedly embracing the material - with the film ultimately faring better than, for example, The Sixth Sense due to its progressively absorbing
narrative (ie there's a sense of forward
momentum that was almost entirely absent from that earlier picture).
While this is justified from a storytelling standpoint, with Tyler's 19 - year - old Lucy arriving in Italy
at the beginning of the picture and greeting her cohabitants for the summer, the film takes forever to achieve
narrative momentum as a result.

at the midpoint when Carl decides to leave LA behind for a quick trip to Miami and the script loses its focus, but as soon as he gets his hands on that food truck and he's back to being a man on a mission, the film takes off with even more

at least two ectoplasmic entities add to the
