The names could go on if we look
at options of adding a solid defensive
midfielder to Arsenal.
It may be that Mourinho would use Fabinho in both roles, though speculation elsewhere suggests United could be looking
at other targets as
options in
midfield.
This is the second part and I am covering the central
midfield options we have
at our disposal.
Arsene Wenger has already stated that he would be bringing
at least one defensive
option to the Emirates in January and with reports saying that Arsenal tried to buy Willam Carvalho in the summer, the Sporting Lisbon
midfielder could be the could be a long term solution to Wenger's current problems.
Personally if he is to move away on loan, I think it should be a six month deal, with the
option of a January extension, or
at least Arsenal can put a return clause in the loan contract, should the Gunners be short of
options in
midfield.
Arsenal are no doubt lacking in steady
midfield options at present, with Francis Coquelin, Mo Elneny, Granit Xhaka and the Ox currently sharing the two roles, and none of them are particularly deserved of holding onto their role
at present.
Another
option for Everton in that area could be Wigan
midfielder James McCarthy, whom Martinez will know well and be keen to be reunited with after their time together
at the DW Stadium.
With attacking
options we have now we don't need that side of his game so much... Need to boost defensive side of
midfield and have creative players who can build for the real goal scorers and Ramsey is crap
at both those...
Don Balon add that Gomes is something of a surprise target for Mourinho given his indifferent form
at Barcelona so far, though the Reds could undoubtedly do with more
options in
midfield as Michael Carrick will retire
at the end of the season and Marouane Fellaini is heading towards the end of his contract.
Plus with
midfield options like Pogba, Matuidi, Cabaye as you say, I find it highly unlikely he'll be given a shot
at all.
Liverpool are likely to look
at strengthening their

midfield and attack, but may feel Turan would be a good buy
at this stage due to the departure of legendary playmaker Xavi

Because of all the injury problems which have left the boss with little

midfield or the back four, Wenger has
at least got two first choice full backs in Kieran Gibbs and Mathieu Debuchy, with Calum Chambers set yto partner Mertesacker in the centre of our defence.
Along with Austrian teammate Julian Baumgartlinger, it's claimed that United sent scouts to watch the pair a little more closely during the international break as Mourinho looks
