Right
inside the door is a tribute to the late Mladen Stilinović (1947 — 2016), a member
of Zagreb's 1970s experimental
art scene, rendered in photographs

of his cheekily called Artist

His

As an intern
at the Whitney, she was charged with sitting on the gallery floor
inside a 1975 exhibition
of the
work of Richard Tuttle,
art so minimal and humble it infuriated many viewers and was a factor in the firing
of the curator, Ms. Tucker, who promptly went out and started the New Museum in two small temporary rooms in TriBeCa.
Christopher Wilmarth: living

at the University Museum
of Contemporary
Art for the spring semester, presents sculptural and graphic
works by an artist who found a way to share his silent conversations with light.
Their exhibition there, which will now be presented
at the National Gallery
of Iceland, challenges the institution
of art and turns
inside out what we understand by such concepts as «
work,» «practice» and «exhibition.»
In truth, since the Beautiful
Inside My Head Forever sale in 2008, Hirst has made several attempts to move on with new
art work — there was the ill - fated attempt
at painting like Francis Bacon sponsored by Victor Pinchuk and shown
at London's Wallace collection — and revive his market with stunts like the global Gagosian show
of spot paintings.

«From the
Inside to the Outside» follows a path that begins in the bodilessness
of our deepest inner being and
at the end
of which the body itself is designated as a
work of art.
His
work was included in «The
Art of the Real,» the Museum
of Modern
Art's groundbreaking 1968 survey
of Minimalism and Color Field painting, and in 1969 he exhibited a cycle
of abstract paintings
at Fischbach Gallery on a custom - built rectilinear structure that effectively turned the gallery
inside - out.

works on paper and canvas, as well as his pieces from a year - long project to create one drawing a day for 365 consecutive days.
His installation
at the 2014 Whitney Biennial included a makeshift structure
inside the old Whitney's sculpture garden, making a gathering space for groups
of people to talk with each other, hang out, and do things that they wouldn't otherwise do in front
of works of art that demand your silent attention.
